IWD: MWUN celebrates women in maritime sector

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria(MWUN) on Monday joined the rest of the world in celebrating women on the International Women’ s Day, which is marked every March 8.

In a statement, President General of the Union, Prince Adewale Adeyanju, expressed solidarity particularly with women in the Maritime Sector.

Adeyanju called for more involvement of women in union activities, as he believes that their involvement would give more strength to unionism.

His words: “I, on behalf of Maritime workers Union of Nigeria, felicitate and stand in solidarity with all our women as they observe International Women’s Day. Indeed, strong women make stronger unions.

“We recognise the substance of women participation and voice in the world and society, and we join in celebrating you all.”
